About The Event
Join us at the Llawnroc hotel in Gorran Haven for a 99p Films screening of Derek vs Derek!
Derek vs Derek is a feature documentary and global impact campaign tackling one of the most urgent challenges of our time - how can we farm and restore nature simultaneously?
🐄 Derek Banbury is an advocate for intensive dairy farming, doing his bit to feed the nation.
🐗Derek Gow is giving his entire farm over to nature; rewilding it into an oasis for wildlife.
Tempers fray, wild animals escape, and the land between them is inevitably transformed.
Join us to eat, breathe, watch and discuss together in the unique 99p Films 'Social Cinema' model.
We hope to reimagine with you a future for our countryside that provides all beings equal abundance.
Help us change the story- from division, to understanding.
🧑🌾What makes this evening extra special is what’s on your plate: Chef Raj’s vibrant Indian fusion cooking! Tonight’s veggie feast features fresh produce grown on CHAOS Farm - produce that also works hard year-round supporting food resilience and tackling food insecurity across Cornwall through our community network. Enjoy the feast!
Please get in touch with hello@teamchaos.uk if you have any dietary or accessibility requirements (ideally with a week's notice) and we will do our best to accommodate these.
This evening is in collaboration with the CHAOS group
The Llawnroc reopened under the CHAOS umbrella this summer and has already become a thriving hub for local gatherings and fundraisers. A proud Cornish B-Corp and CIC, CHAOS stands for 'Community Helping All Of Society' and this ethos forms the core of all branches of the organisation, from a community radio station to health and social care services.
At the very heart of The Llawnroc is the Roc Crew. Formed to give local youngsters aged 14 to 16 their first real taste of the working world, the team are supported by five young mentors and three managers to develop confidence and practical skills.
