Derek vs Derek, St Ives

Derek v Derek is an award-winning film about land, farming and the essential fight for nature. It's a film about farmers, told by farmers: it’s blunt, funny and heartwarming in equal measure.

About The Event

Derek vs Derek is a feature documentary and global impact campaign tackling one of the most urgent challenges of our

time: how can we farm and restore nature at the same time?

🐄 Derek Banbury is an advocate for intensive dairy farming, doing his bit to feed the nation.

🐗Derek Gow is giving his entire farm over to nature; rewilding it into an oasis for wildlife.

Tempers fray, wild animals escape, and the land between them is transformed.

The two Dereks butt heads over what the English countryside should look like and who gets to decide.

Join us to breathe, watch, discuss and eat together in the unique 99p Films model.

We hope to discuss with you what the future of our countryside might look like, and how we all have a say in changing the story- from division, to understanding.

🧑‍🌾This evening's feast will be cooked using majority British grown ingredients, championing the British farmers we will be watching and discussing. We want to show our support for them in as many ways possible, as they are the future of our food revolution. Please join us in this delicious feast (vegan and gluten free).

We'll be joined by Matt Birchall and Luke New from Penwith Landscape Recovery Project (a Cornwall Wildlife Trust / Defra initiative) who will be happy to discuss this local project afterwards.
