Join us for this alternative cinema experience! Mindful breathing at the start, an Inspiring new documentary from the Cornwall Climate Care stories, Social discussions throughout and a communal feast where we'll eat part of the solution!
Time & Location
23 Jul 2023, 16:00 – 20:00
The Cornish Bank & The Poly, 34 Church St, Falmouth TR11 3EF, UK
About The Event
We'll begin with our communal feast held at the Cornish Bank, where we've got a special team of chefs from India, Shlesha, Nikita, Drisya & Sushant who have set up 'Hurry Curry'. A traditional Indian street food kitchen turning locally sourced Cornish vegetables into a delicious Indian fusion meal. Hurry Curry will be serving a traditional street food dish called Pav bhaji.
Our cinema screening will then take place across the road at the Poly where we'll have our signature curation of Breathe - Watch - Discuss!
Beginning with our mindful breathing connecting us all together through one singular breath and readying us for the screening ahead, and then kicking things off with a student film from Stella Emerald all about the Falmouth Food Coop, where 99p from every ticket sold will go directly to the student film maker supporting and enabling them with their career and future work. Then comes the feature length documentary of the evening ' Hungry for Change', the latest documentary from charity Cornwall Climate Care, which takes a fascinating and inspiring look at a whole range of stories, from the gleaners picking ‘waste’ crops in our fields, to projects growing food in unusual places and a microbiologist keen to get us all eating low-carbon insects.
If after all of that your craving more and fancy some live music, we've struck a great deal on some discounted tickets to see Dizraeli back at the Cornish Bank.
See our bundle ticket of 'Food + Screening + Music' to grab one, available from under £20!
We can't wait to once again Breath, Watch, Discuss, Eat and potentially even dance with this beautiful community next Sunday!
