About The Event
In partnership with The University of Exeter, My So-Called Selfish Life is a revolutionary new documentary about one of our greatest social taboos: choosing not to become a mother. Titled after one of the myths it challenges, this entertaining, inspiring, and thought-provoking film draws on a heady mix of pop culture, science, and history to reveal the diverse lives of people who have said no to having children. With brisk, cheeky humour and an intersectional lens, My So-Called Selfish Life gives us permission to consider the futures we want, and the inspiration to fight for our reproductive freedom—whether we want children or not. When women have control over their reproductive choices, powerful things happen.
“An urgent documentary. At a time when reproductive rights in America is under attack, it’s a movie that feels timelier than ever“ –Dua Lipa
"Engrossing deep dive into the child-free choice” The Globe and Mail
We'll kick the night off with our usual feast, followed by the film, culminating with an open & social discussion!
We look forward to Eating - Breathing - Watching & Discussing with you all :D
