The Forgotten Temperate Rainforest – A Social Cinema Experience
Join us for an evening in partnership with Hometree exploring one of Ireland’s overlooked forests — our temperate rainforests. This social cinema event presents a series of short films that bring these ancient woodlands to life, sparking conversation and connection around their beauty, significance, and the urgent need to protect and restore them.
Event Details:
Doors Open: 6:15 PM
Social Cinema Starts: 6:30 - 8:30 PM - It includes mindful breathing at the start, watching documentary films, an audience-led discussion, and a Q&A with our guest speaker, Hometree co-founder Matt Smith.

Location: The venue is the North Wing Council Room, which is located in the Main Quadrangle on the University College Cork campus. The entrance is in the North Wing. See the photo and Google Maps pin for reference: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mEAgCRkGKTcXFSZw5
Accessibility: Please note that the Council Room is accessed via several steps and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. We’re very sorry for this and are committed to choosing fully accessible venues for future events.
More Than Just a Screening…
This is more than just watching films! Take part in audience-led discussions with conservationists and others working to protect these overlooked forests. Meet like-minded people, exchange ideas, and discover ways to make a real impact.
Be part of the movement to rediscover, protect, and restore our temperate rainforests. We can’t wait to welcome you!
